Asus, meet Chrome OS…
So, I bought an Asus Eee PC 701 4G of one of my mates. It’s a pretty decent piece of hardware. My original intention was to install Chromium OS on it, and then boot it at light-speed!!
First time booting from USB, it went past the BIOS, and got to a blue screen saying: ‘Aw, snap’. So now I’m IRC-ing Hexxeh, the guy who makes these GREAT Chromium OS builds and I’m attempting to bribe him with ‘a tenner’; so, you know…
I’m hoping he tries to fix the problem. He is a great guy, and he’s doing a great service.
In other news, I just decided that the geeks of the internet need to reclaim the web for themselves! DO IT!!
New Project
I’ve begun work on a plugin for the Minecraft server implementation Bukkit. The plugin is called Party, and is effectively a few mini-games that you can play with the players on your server.
The only real idea I’ve come up with so far is a race to the top of the world. The aim is to build a tower to the top of the world as fast as possible, to win the game… A pretty fun idea, I thought.
I’m putting in more ideas as I think of them, but in the meantime, you can follow the project at: https://github.com/scottystreet/Party
Website Updates
I’ve updated my website with a new footer, as well as some poetic metaphors :P
It’s really rather good! Check it out at: http://www.scottystreet.co.uk/
Keep checking back to the website for more stuff. It will appear (slowly).
Skyrim :P
The Elder Scrolls IV is the current game I’m playing. I wasn’t sure if I was going to buy it, in fact - if you asked me a week ago, I probably wouldn’t have really known much about it!!
But anyway, the game is excellent, and everybody should buy it. It’s got dragons in it!
Sitting up in bed…
So. Today’s been interesting. I had to wake up early to do some homework - that was pretty boring. I turned on the telly, and BBC Breakfast was reporting Steve Job’s death. That was shocking.
School was just a casual day. A bit of Graphics, bit of Badminton. I came home after school and went to a piano lesson - that was ok. I found out that EllenMcLain is following me on Twitter, which was cool. Then I spent the rest of the evening chatting on Skype, and decided to go to bed early.
That was quick.
Exciting day!
Today is a very exciting day, and when I say exciting - I mean exciting. Not only is the 1st Portal 2 DLC pack going to become available for download sometime today, but Apple are also holding a ‘Lets talk iPhone’ event at their campus. Engadget are there, but sadly I haven’t reached the popularity level to get invited to these things yet!!
Another thing I’m working on is a Java project. If you play Minecraft with any technical knowledge, you may have heard of the Bukkit Project (http://www.bukkit.org/). It’s a fantastic implementation of the Minecraft server software that allows you to easily install plugins, and runs a bit smoother than the vanilla software. It’s great. But I thought I could make it better, so I’ve started work on my own version that is supposed to work in exactly the same way, but run slightly faster - I have rather fittingly named it ‘QuickBukkit’. (http://www.github.com/scottystreet/QuickBukkit/)
Good idea or what?!
I’ll always have time for gaming.

Overload
So when I started my blog, it seems I was in a momentary dip of work… And now I am not.
This in turn means I have no time to tend to my blogging, so if there is anybody out there who’s reading my posts - I do apologise and hope to resume posting shortly!
I’ll always have time for gaming.
This fantastic bit of software changes the light intensity coming from your computer screen, according to the time of day… It’s fully customisable, and should save you from countless headaches!!
I strongly recommend this.
Ending up here…
So. I’ve started up my own blog on tumblr. That would be because I’ve become obsessed with technology, gadgets, the Internet, and all things on it. Not just using them, but creating them, and living with them.
Many times have I started something, but very rarely do I finish. Here begins what I hope to be a very long story about tech.
